• This is THE best animal hospital. Front desk staff is friendly, cheerful & more than helpful. The owner is one of the kindest, most caring business owners you'll meet. He went above & beyond helping my family & my cat, who's head was bashed in. Dr. O. really cares about his patients (both the animals & their humans).
Dr McKeirnan, the DVM who performed Milo's surgeries was amazing. She always called to give me updates when he was in the hospital for a week, and once he was out she would call every couple days to check in on him and see how he was doing. I really can't say enough good things about this place.

  • I just wanted to send a note of thanks to your gifted and amazing surgeon, Dr. Kelci McKerinan. About 3-4 years ago, she performed a high-risk surgery to remove a large, 9-lb. benign abdominal mass from my border collie, Pete. It was high risk due to the tumor invading highly vascular structures (spleen and liver). Without this surgery, Pete would have suffered greatly, eventually leading to death. I wanted to thank her for giving us the extra few years of a wonderful life with Pete! Again, my deep appreciation for your skilled surgeon Dr Mckerinen and caring staff - Pete has had a happy and fulfilling past few years with his family. We will forever be grateful!

  • After having a check up for my yellow lab (Jake) today, I just had to express how wonderful the staff is at AES. From the greeting when you walk in to the beautiful and clean facility, to all the other staff greetings, Jake is treated like a king. And he loves the dog treats. :) Dr. McKeirnan is truly a fantastic, dedicated professional who has a passion for animals. She is very thoughtful with her advice and thorough with her explanations. Jake had oral cancer, but thanks to Dr. McKeirnan, the staff at AES, and the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, today we got the most terrific news - Jake got the all clear. I will continue to highly recommend AES to all pet owners I know! Thank you for taking such great care of Jake!

  • As a vet, this is my Eastside go-to emergency clinic for my clients, my patients, and my own pets. Don't waste time or money elsewhere, this is where you want to go.

  • Thank you so much for taking care of our boy, Griff. He is back to his old self again, and we have you to thank for that. It was a stressful couple of weeks, and you were so incredible. The Gorilla Glue is no longer allowed in the house, but unfortunately we couldn’t ban all of the underwear. ☺ Again, thank you for everything!

  • I just wanted to say thank you. Putting down my cat, Storm, was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. But the kindness and honesty of the staff helped me make the right decision.

  • I love this AES vet hospital in Kirkland, located next to the Fred Meyer gas station. Their extensive medical knowledge, passion for animals, and love they give are obvious and admirable!!! I can’t imagine taking any animal of mine elsewhere.

  • Dear Dr. O’Hanlon & your amazing staff: From the moment we entered the doors of AES, we felt welcomed and cared for. It was a scary experience discovering Persephone’s diabetes and trying to navigate the management of her care. We are so thankful that we had the help of you and the rest of the staff to support us through it all. We felt 100% confident leaving her in your care for the times that we could not be present. Thank you ALL from the bottom of our hearts for the phenomenal care that you give to each and every precious life that is entrusted into your hands.

  • Thank you so much for the wonderful care and service you gave our beloved kitty after her attack by a racoon. She wouldn’t have made it without you! You all seemed to know and understand how precious a pet can be to its family. Thank you!

  • It’s taken me a few months to deal with my loss of my cat, Tang. I’ve been wanting to let you know how much I appreciate everything all of you did for my boy!!! From every staff member’s knowledge and expertise, to the love and affection Tank and I received while there . . . well, I cannot thank you enough!!! For 11 days you let me sit and talk to him for hours. When it was time for me to go home, I was so comforted because I always knew he was in the best of hands. I knew when I left, he was still being loved. All of your hearts are made of gold. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you AES for your compassionate, dedicated, knowledgeable care of our beloved, super social Simon, who came in with a urinary obstruction and, unbeknownst to us, was close to death. Not only did your wonderful doctors quickly fix the issue, you all also spoiled Simon rotten during his 3-day visit. We are so grateful for the peace of mind you provided us and the fabulous care you provided Simon. Special thanks to Dr. Christin, who sat with me for a good 20 minutes during visiting hours when Simon was so very sick. <3 <3 <3

  • My dogs never hesitate at getting as sick as they possibly can with strange illnesses. They have had my Gizmo for the better part of 2 weeks and everyone here is awesome. The criticalist, Dr. Reminga, is AMAZING and compassionate and kind. She went above and beyond to do everything she possibly could for me and for Gizmo in every single aspect of his care. I don't WANT to spend any more time here. But I am glad to know this place is here if I need it!

  • Absolutely outstanding facility and staff. Our 9 year old GSD, Teague, suffered a sudden onset of bloat. His care was exemplary, his caretakers compassionate to him and us, and unquestionably are responsible for getting him quickly on the road to recovery from this life-threatening event. Many thanks (more than we can express) to the finest veterinary health provider I've ever encountered in a lifetime of enjoying the companionship of GSDs.
